What is COVID-19?
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease that affects your lungs and airways. A few common symptoms include fever, sore throat, dry cough, and shortness of breath.
Since the disease has very similar symptoms to the common flu, people tend to take the virus lightly and disregard safety procedures. The disease is most dangerous to individuals over the age of 60, and people that have pre-existing conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer. However, you can still be impacted by the coronavirus if you are not in any of these groups and also be a host for the virus and affect those around you.
Initially, the virus was not taken very seriously which is why the coronavirus has turned into a pandemic and is a global issue. Jordan, along with some other countries, has taken high measures which have shown to be effective. However, the number of confirmed cases continues to increase.
Do not panic, but take safety precautions.
