Prevention of COVID-19 If You Are Sick
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), going to the hospital shouldn't be your immediate reaction in the case of feeling ill. Most people have mild illness and can recover at home.
1) Take care of yourself.
Especially if you are starting to feel ill, you should get a lot of rest and stay hydrated.
2) Stay in touch with your doctor.
Contact your healthcare provider by calling them (call before going to any hospitals). If you have trouble breathing or have any other emergency warning signs, be sure to get care.
3) Avoid human contact as much as possible.
Stay in a specific room and isolate yourself from your family and pets that are living with you inside your house. If available, use a separate bathroom as well.
4) Cover your mouth with a face mask or piece of cloth, especially if you need to be around others.
5) Clean your hands often.
6) Avoid the use of personal objects with other people.
